quintana is in napa, john alston is live at a power outage in san francisco. we begin with meteorologist leigh glaser. >> leigh: right now we're in a lull across the bay area. live doppler 7hd picked up heavier cells as the warm sector moves through. but what we're keying spot -- seeing spotty rain, san ramon, towards the livermore valley area, and just to the east of morgan hill, little not -- spotty pain, -- spotty rain but where the rain is coming down, very heavy rainfall amounts in the north coast, pushing into crescent city. this where is the leading edge of the cold front is. it has to swing south and we are doing for heavy around and wind tomorrow morning. this is the timing. 11:00 this evening, and tonight and early tomorrow morning, stormy conditions, 2:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m., that's when we'll look for very heavy rainfall, very strong winds to move into the north bay. 6:00 a.m. red indicating very heavy rain, from napa down towards san rafael. and you'll notice as we head to the 9:00 hour, into the 11:00 hour, this cold front moves towards the south, the rain pushe

in people injured in hit-and-run accident in the twin peak area. at least one person in bad shape from what we understand. we are live at the scene with the very latest. sergio? >>reporter: there are actually 2 scenes that we are looking into here. the first is just beyond the police cars over in that direction. that's where 4 people were walking earlier this evening. 3 of them were hit by a passing car. let's go ahead and look at some video of this scene so we can kind of explain this. now 3 people went over the edge. those victims were knot knocked off the edge by that, on the roadway. rescue crew had to recover them from the edge. one person suffered life threatening injuries. an adult woman. now the fourth person apparently was not injured. may have actually called police. was also searching for potentially. knot now all 3 were transported to a local hospital. now just yards away places discovered a suspect vehicle. the car had some major damage on the passenger side and the driver of that vehicle was visibly belligerent with officers inside that vehicle one of the passengers

this morning beginning at 7:00 a.m. as the cold front moved through. now you could barely even tell we had any rain at all. we are looking live now, folks, and you can see the receive rain has pushed on to the south and east of the bay area. still getting a few little sprinkles here and there between morgan hill and hollister. mainly at the higher elevations, but most of the rain, or actually all of the rain has moved out of the area. we did have quite a bit of rainfall. we still have a couple of river watches. these are river watches in affect until tomorrow morning. the river right now is at 27 feet. it looks like it will crest tomorrow morning below flood stage at 30 feet. the napa river in napa 23 feet right now. you can see the flood stage is 25 feet. it crested earlier today at 26 feet. it is just a foot above flood stage. it is now receding. i think the flood watch for that part of the napa river will be lifted in the next couple hours. how much rainfall? we take a look at that coming up. >> thank you. >>> hundreds of people living on the peninsula abandoned their homes after

went ahead and captured the image of live doppler 7hd. specifically at 7:50 this morning you can clearly see the heaviest part of the storm making its way just over the golden gate bridge indicated by the deep reds and the oranges and the yellows and all of that moisture quickly pushed to the south. here is another shot of it by the way from our satellite-radar composite. live doppler 7hd is not showing any moisture at all out there. yes, it does look like we get a respite tonight and tomorrow, but more rain is in my accu-weather seven-day forecast. we'll get to that a little later. >> leigh, thank you. a huge gaping hole in a roadway is causing major problems for some lafayette residents. abc7 news reporter alan wang is live from the area with what this means for neighbors. alan? >> this has been a nightmare for the 20 some odd in the area. >> when the road collapsed it ?eapped off a water service line, sewage line and badly damaged a watermain. >> the only piece -- inconvenience is going to the bathroom. >> the creek was flowing over mountain view drive and into the neighborhoo

pretty good line, through san francisco, and now we're looking at moderate rain in berkeley, hercules, novato, moderate rain, and sonoma, national -- napa, american canyon, and you can see the line to the east, novato, that will move in. and rain towards san pablo and richmond, and in the last 20 minutes, heavy rain near santa cruz, shifting towards the east. morgan hill, and the gilroy area, and some of these heavy downpours, reports of lightning strikes, a little thunder there, so some of this activity really on the go button now, but the main event is really going to be tomorrow morning. we'll look at the timing coming up. >> ama: the weather has been causing problems across the bay today. one of the biggest was at the corner of 17th in potrero. here's john alston with maine information. >> people have been stopping to take pictures. this has been sitting like this since this afternoon when a strong rainstorm blew through. nobody was hurt. this could have been much worst when the canopy crumbled at the 76 station. a san francisco public works crew removed branches from a

neighborhood at all. what we do know is that police tell us that a man and a woman were found unconscious in the streets behind me. now, what we know is this. two victims a female and male were rushed to san francisco general after being found in the 900 block of bros sell street 8:30 this evening bound, gaged and unconscious. medical aid was initiated at the scene, but both victims were rushed to san francisco general with life-threatening injuries. >> first we want them to be stabilized medically, and then we are going to try to see if we can ascertain some information from them after they have been medically tended to. >> right now there are more questions than answers. how were the victed? assaulted? what is the extent of their injuries. police have yet to determine a motive, and they are working to identify the victims. and one more thing is essential to their investigation. they are still trying to determine if the assault happened at this location. back here live, and i can tell you that police stress that they believe there is no threat to the community. residents i spoke with tell m

on the scene and it is happening at a home in engel side heights. abc7 news reporter ama dates is live with the latest on this. ama? >> dan, fire officials will confirm one person was found dead in the house. they will not say anything about the victim's identitiment we are are -- identity. we are a block away from the house. you can see what it looked like when we arrived on scene. it broke out about 8:40. about 40 firefighters responded, and they were able to put the fire out in 40 minutes. it burned through the garage and the second floor of the home. one person was found dead inside. now it wasn't the resident or the neighbor who called the fire in. it was an off duty firefighter who smelled smoke. >> firefighters have had good noses. they smelled like some wood was burning somewhere. they let the you are fireman know. >> reporter: and most of the damage was contained to that house on the corner. there was some smoke damage to the house next to it. one person has been confirmed dead, and they are finishing up at the scene. the fire officials tell me they will board it up as a

be armed. >> the warning going out to the hundreds of students locked down at cal state fullerton right now. i'm carolyn johnson. >> i'm dan ashley. it is a tense scene that has been playing out for hours down south. police have the building surrounded as officers search for a man they suspect is armed and dangerous. this is all happening on the cal state university at fullerton campus southeast of downtown los angeles. >> i believe the armed suspect is in the building. >> reporter: police and the s.w.a.t team went from building to building searching for one and possibly two suspects. the school tweeted an alert to students and employers to remain on lock down. people outside were told to evacuate immediately. students barricaded the doors to their classrooms and turned down the rights and stayed quiet. some of them tweeted pictures showing chairs and other objects blocking the doors. all classes were canceled and nearby streets shutdown. the suspects were believed to have run on to the campus after a high speed chase. they were among five people suspected it of robbing a jewelry

at what's happening right now. sand -- sandhya? >> we have rain on live doppler hd. a flood warning was just issued, and we will talk about those in a moment. let's get to the live doppler 7hd. we have our own radar on mount saint helena and it is tracking moderate to heavy rain around the windsor area. sweetwater springs road. as you can see highway 101 here. as we head up, we are getting light to moderate rain there. this was worrisome because it will only get worse. and that is why a flood warning has been issued for the russian river until 6:00 p.m. on monday. the russian river and it is also under a flood warning. that is until 8:00 p.m. on sunday night. let me show you some of the eeing showers in the north bay. around santa rosa light to moderate rate. the showers #r* quickly developing -- the showers are quickly developing spotty in nature. east, southeast of the morgan hill area, rain shower totals are impressive, over eight and a half inches, the santa cruz mountains and almost nine inches. almost an inch and a half and almost three inches san rafael. oakland to san jose a
